NorPilot is built to help travellers prepare for Arctic driving. These terms explain how the public service may be used, what NorPilot provides, and where its responsibility ends.

NorPilot provides route context, preparation tools and educational guidance for Arctic travel.

Driver decides

The traveller remains responsible for driving decisions and for assessing current conditions.

Verify current conditions

Road, weather, ferry and other travel conditions can change. Current official information takes precedence.

Respect the service

Use NorPilot lawfully and do not disrupt, misuse or misrepresent the service or its content.

NorPilot is an Arctic driving preparation and safety-guidance service focused on Northern Norway, Northern Sweden and Northern Finland. It provides route context, preparation tools, Academy content, visitor-planning features and related information.

NorPilot is not an official road authority, licensing body, navigation service or emergency service.

Road, weather, visibility, ferry schedules, closures, opening hours and other travel conditions can change. Users should verify current conditions and relevant information before travelling.

The driver remains responsible for every decision on the road.

You may access and use the public service for its intended travel-preparation and informational purposes, including sharing NorPilot guidance with travellers you host or serve.

  • Do not disrupt, overload or interfere with the service.
  • Do not attempt unauthorised access.
  • Do not misuse or systematically extract content in violation of applicable rights or source licences.
  • Do not falsely present NorPilot content as official authority information.
  • Do not use the service or its content unlawfully or in a way that infringes the rights of others.

Original NorPilot editorial content, Academy material, branding and artwork belong to NorPilot unless labelled otherwise on the page.

Third-party maps, geodata, weather information and other external data remain subject to their respective licences and attribution requirements. Map attribution (OpenFreeMap, OpenMapTiles and OpenStreetMap) is shown on the Route Check map. Other open and official road data used for route context remains subject to its own licence.

NorPilot is provided as an informational and preparation service. It may change, may contain errors, and may be temporarily unavailable.

A route, preparation result or piece of information is not a guarantee that a journey is safe, possible or suitable.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, NorPilot is provided without warranties regarding availability, accuracy, completeness or suitability for a particular purpose.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, NorPilot is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from use of the service.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by mandatory law.

NorPilot may link to or use external road, weather, mapping, ferry or other services. NorPilot does not control those services, and their own terms, availability and policies apply.

How NorPilot handles information and local browser data is described in the Privacy Policy.

NorPilot may update these terms as the service evolves. The updated date at the top of the page identifies the current version.

These terms are governed by Norwegian law. Disputes are handled by the ordinary Norwegian courts unless mandatory consumer-protection law requires otherwise.

Use NorPilot to prepare. Use current conditions to decide.
